Our IB Art students have strived in their artistic abilities and put literal sweat and tears into their projects every year. Today's post is focusing on one student in particular and a self portrait piece he recently created. Enjoy the following photos of his piece, along with a message from the artist himself.
“There’s always been pressure on me to excel in art. Everything I do has to be perfect, but I’m only human and I mess up too. You never see my mistakes because I try so hard to correct them. You don’t see how many hours I spent fixing what everyone would consider a flaw on my canvas. I don’t even know if I’m creating art for myself or to meet everyone’s expectations. If I were to present terrible art, how would you view me? Some people would think I’m lazy. Enjoy my frustration."
